Arsenal youngster Theo Julienne has committed his future to the club by signing his first professional contract. The versatile midfielder, who can also play at full-back, has impressed across various youth teams this season, making 14 appearances already.

Julienne, who joined Arsenal at the age of 13, has surpassed his tally of 12 games from the previous season with the U18s. He has featured prominently in the U18 Premier League but has also gained valuable experience in the FA Youth Cup, the UEFA Youth League with the U19s, and Premier League 2 with the U21s.

His talent has also been recognized at the international level, as Julienne has represented England at youth levels.

Speaking to Arsenal.com after signing his contract, Julienne expressed his delight: “Obviously it’s a great feeling to sign for this club. I’ve been here a while now, I joined when I was 13, so I’m happy that I’ve signed.”

Among his highlights at Arsnal, Julienne fondly remembers winning the Liam Brady Cup with the U16s. “That was a tough tournament with teams like Flamengo, but we got through and won,” he recalled.

Versatility is a key attribute for Julienne, who is comfortable playing in both midfield and full-back positions. “I prefer playing in midfield,” he admitted, “I think that’s where I’m best. But I’m happy to do whatever I need to do to help the team win. But I think midfield is where I can impact the game the best.”

He went on to describe his strengths: “Getting out of tight spaces, finding the spare man, beating the press, and off the ball I’m aggressive. I like to get into challenges.”

Julienne acknowledges areas for improvement: “There are a lot of things I need to work on – shooting, maybe my understanding of the game at times – but you can always work on things to get better.”

The departure of Jack Wilshere as U18s head coach earlier this season led to Adam Birchall taking over the reins. Julienne assured a smooth transition under the new coach: “It’s good, Birchy has high standards of us and makes sure we work hard every day and every match. I think the rest of the season will be good with him.”

This marks a significant step forward for Theo Julienne’s young career at Arsenal. His dedication, versatility, and willingness to learn position him well for continued development within the club’s academy system.
