Tottenham new manager: Lopetegui odds reveal after shock sack news

Julen Lopetegui, the under-fire West Ham United manager, has surprisingly emerged as a longshot contender for the Tottenham Hotspur managerial position, according to the latest betting odds. Itxxb would be a huge error of judgement by Daniel Levy if he were to appoint the former Wolves man and would probably cause riots among the fanbase.

Lopetegui is expected to be sacked by West Ham following a disappointing campaign that has seen them struggle significantly in the Premier League. While he is a 33/1 outsider to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham, his inclusion in the betting market has raised eyebrows given the contrasting fortunes of the two managers this season.

Postecoglou, despite facing recent pressure, remains firmly in the club’s plans. David Ornstein has confirmed that the Australian is “100 percent safe in his job” and that Tottenham are backing him to lead the project forward. This is further evidenced by the club’s recent activity in the transfer market, with the signing of goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky demonstrating their commitment to strengthening the squad under Postecoglou’s guidance.

Appointing Lopetegui as Postecoglou’s successor would be a highly controversial decision. Lopetegui’s tenure at West Ham has been underwhelming, with the team struggling to compete effectively in the Premier League. Such a move would likely be met with significant opposition from Tottenham fans.

It’s important to note that Lopetegui’s inclusion in the betting odds may simply reflect the fluid nature of managerial appointments in football. However, given his current situation at West Ham and Postecoglou’s continued backing from the Tottenham hierarchy, it seems highly unlikely that Lopetegui will be considered a serious contender for the Tottenham job.

In other Tottenham news, the club has reportedly made an official bid for a Colombian midfielder.

While Lopetegui’s inclusion in the betting market may be surprising, it serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of football management.
