Arsenal hold talks to seal late deal for 6ft 2in star,£40m deal could be agreed

Arsenal have contacted Brighton and Hove Albion to discuss signing Evan Ferguson, according to The Guardian. Ferguson is 20 years old and became well-known after performing well for Brighton a few seasons ago. However, he has struggled with injuries recently, which has affected his progress. Due to these injuries, he has found it hard to secure a regular spot in Brighton’s starting lineup under manager Fabian Hurzeler this season. He has only started two Premier League games so far. As a result, Brighton are open to letting him leave before the transfer deadline.

Arsenal are interested in signing Ferguson and have already made contact to find out the details of a possible deal. Brighton are willing to let him go on loan, but they are also open to a permanent transfer for around £40 million. However, Arsenal face competition from several other clubs. Bayer Leverkusen, Everton, Bournemouth, and Tottenham Hotspur have also shown interest and made inquiries about Ferguson. West Ham United are also keen to sign him and seem to be in a strong position to complete the deal.

Arsenal need a new striker because Gabriel Jesus is out with a serious knee injury. They previously tried to sign Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa with a £60 million offer, but Aston Villa rejected the bid because they do not want to sell him in the middle of the season. Now, it seems Mikel Arteta is looking at Ferguson as an alternative option.

Ferguson is 6 feet 2 inches tall and, although he has had difficulties recently, he has a lot of potential. He is still young and has time to improve his game. However, he is not yet a fully developed player and will need time to reach his best level. Arsenal are competing for the Premier League title and may need a striker who is already experienced and ready to perform at the highest level. If they sign Ferguson, it might be wise to also bring in an experienced forward to strengthen their squad.
