Money down the drain: 3/10 Ibrox signing should never start for Rangers again, he’s done – opinion

There comes a point where patience stops being a virtue and becomes a liability. For Rangers supporters, that point has been reached with this signing. When the club commits transfer funds and wages to a player, the expectation is simple: improve the team. Instead, we keep getting performances that leave the Ibrox faithful shaking their heads and wondering how he ever made it into the starting eleven.
A 3/10 rating is not a harsh judgement, it is an honest one. Match after match, the same flaws show up. The touch is heavy, the decisions are slow, and the impact on the game is close to zero. In a team that needs to dominate Scottish football and make a mark in Europe, there is no room for a player who looks a step behind everyone around him. Every time he starts, the balance of the side suffers, and opponents know exactly where to press.
What makes it more frustrating is the cost. Rangers cannot afford to waste money. Every pound spent on a player who does not deliver is a pound that could have gone on someone who would. Supporters see the bigger picture here, because this is not just about one bad game. It is about a recruitment decision that has not paid off, and a manager who keeps giving chances that have not been earned.
Fans are not unreasonable. We back players through rough spells, and we celebrate those who grow into the shirt. But there is a difference between a player finding his feet and one who has shown, repeatedly, that he is not good enough at this level. Sentiment cannot pick the team.
The solution is not complicated. Drop him, rotate in players who are hungry and in form, and accept that this one has not worked. Rangers deserve better than a passenger. For the good of the club, he should never start again.
