Tottenham to receive tempting offer for Postecoglou’s best player, with ‘transfer bomb’ for ‘world star’ approved

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou and captain Son Heung-min have been involved in transfer rumors with a Turkish club, Galatasaray, reportedly planning to bid for Son in the upcoming January transfer window. Son, 32, is one of the Premier League’s top players, becoming the first Asian footballer to score over 100 goals in the competition, with 123 goals to his name. His record continues to grow, and he is expected to climb further up the all-time scoring list by the end of the season. Notably, most of Son’s goals have come without penalty kicks, as Harry Kane primarily took those duties during his time at Tottenham.

Son’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 season, but Tottenham has the option to extend it for another year. Reports from Turkey claim that Galatasaray, the reigning champions of the Turkish league, are interested in signing Son and have approved a move for him in January. The club is planning to release Hakim Ziyech, who is likely to move to Major League Soccer, and intends to use that opportunity to bring in a new star, with Son being their prime target.

Galatasaray is no stranger to signing high-profile players, such as Victor Osimhen, who joined on loan last summer. The Turkish club has reportedly agreed to offer a suitable transfer fee to Tottenham to secure Son’s services. However, Tottenham has already started the process of extending Son’s contract for another year, and it seems likely that they will activate the option to keep him until 2026. Fabrizio Romano, a well-known football transfer expert, confirmed that Tottenham intends to take up this option and extend Son’s stay at the club.

Despite the Turkish club’s interest, it is unlikely that Tottenham will let their star player go mid-season, especially when manager Ange Postecoglou is focused on winning a trophy this year. The club’s plans to extend Son’s contract suggest they are keen to retain him, and a move to Galatasaray would be surprising at this stage. In addition to Son’s situation, there are other transfer rumors surrounding Tottenham. The club is reportedly monitoring Bournemouth center-back Illia Zabarnyi, who has impressed in the Premier League since his move from Dynamo Kyiv. Several clubs, including Chelsea, Tottenham, and Manchester City, are keeping an eye on him.

Tottenham is also interested in signing Louie Barry, a forward currently on loan at Stockport from Aston Villa. Barry has been in excellent form, scoring 11 goals so far this season, making him the top scorer in League One. Tottenham, along with Leicester, is reportedly considering a move for the 20-year-old, who is expected to cost around £12.5 million.

In other Tottenham-related news, the club is reportedly working on contract extensions for several key players, ensuring their future at the club. Son Heung-min’s future remains uncertain, but Tottenham seems determined to keep him for the long term, despite the interest from Galatasaray. However, it would take a significant change in circumstances for Son to leave mid-season, as Postecoglou is focused on building a successful team that can compete for silverware. With these developments, Tottenham fans will be watching closely to see whether Son stays beyond 2025 or if a move to Galatasaray will materialize.
